I like to put words on pages and watch them sing.
I have been writing things since I read Harry Potter at the age of seven, and realized that I had the power to be the king of my own worlds. After years of frustration, I discovered that I was not the king of my world; rather, my characters are the monarchs, and I am merely their historian. I like to write character-driven SFF stories with just enough darkness to make the brightness pop. I am currently seeking representation for The Blue, an adult fantasy novel which follows a captain and her teenage daughter as they sail to complete an ancient blood offering.
I was born in Ottawa, Canada, and raised in Ottawa and London, England. After graduating university with an honours degree in Russian Studies, I moved across the world on a whim, and regret nothing. I currently teach English as a second language to children and teenagers in Taiwan. In my spare time, I like to read pretty much everything placed in front of me, and make preposterous amounts of Arrested Development, Harry Potter and Sense8 references. You can usually find me with a half-finished hazelnut latte in any Taipei coffee shop pounding words into my laptop, which is coated in Mikasa Ackerman stickers.
